Rahul has more than 8 years of experience in handling patent matters for range of clients across multiple industries and is a registered patent agent with Indian Patent Office. Prior to Adastra IP, Rahul headed the IP Department of a medium-sized biotechnology company in Mumbai, where he worked on range of patent and trade mark matters in different countries with respect to biosimilars, recombinant therapeutics, expression vectors, processes and other domains of molecular biology, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. At Adastra, Rahul has worked across multiple fields of technology and science with start-ups and large corporations alike. He has extensive knowledge of patent laws of India, US and EP. He routinely advises clients on matters such as infringement and invalidation. Rahul’s main clients have been MSMEs and start-ups from fields as divergent as robotics and biotechnology with whom he has worked closely to develop their patent and trade marks portfolio in India and abroad. He has extensive experience in drafting and prosecuting patent specifications, across world, in areas such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, molecular biology, chemistry, and chemical engineering. He has also drafted patent specifications on IT, robotics, AI, software, mobile apps, mechanical engineering. He has worked extensively on conducting patent research and analytics projects such as landscape searches, FTO searches, prior art searches and invalidity searches for national and international clients.
